3 Reasons to Forgive your Spouse Today

“Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes”. 2 Corinthians 2:10,11

If you were offended and hurting so bad that you can’t see why you should forgive, here are three reasons to forgive your spouse today!

1. When you forgive your spouse, God forgives your spouse too.

2. When you forgive your spouse you remove any advantage or loophole that the devil may use to attack you and your family. Unforgiving heart is Satan’s weapon of war against you, us and God.

3. When you fail to forgive your spouse, you are helping Satan to fight you, your family and us, the Kingdom of God.

I watched a documentary about a pastor who forgave his wife after she committed adultery and had a baby as a result of the adultery. The pastor took his wife back and accepted the child as his own child. At that time I said, “no way!, for me to do that!”, but now I understand that its not about me, but about the family and the kingdom of God.

We all were here when Senator Clinton, against all advice forgave President Clinton and stood by him through the Monica ordeal. Today they are still married and aging gracefully right before our eyes. The pain of “Monica” could not destroy that formidable tag-team of Hillary/Bill.

Don’t let the devil destroy what God committed into your hands. You are a team established for a purpose in the kingdom of God. At the very least you have to raise your children together as a team.
